Journal of Neurophysiology


The Journal of Neurophysiology publishes original articles on the function of the nervous system. All levels of function are included, from the membrane and cell to systems and behavior. Experimental approaches include molecular neurobiology, cell culture and slice preparations, membrane physiology, developmental neurobiology, functional neuroanatomy, neurochemistry, neuropharmacology, systems electrophysiology, imaging and mapping techniques, and behavioral analysis. Yates imageBill J. Yates is Professor of Otolaryngology, Neuroscience, and Clinical and Translational Science at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. His undergraduate and graduate studies in neuroscience were completed at the University of Florida, and in 1986 he relocated to Rockefeller University to pursue postdoctoral work under the mentorship of Victor Wilson. During his time as a postdoc, Yates became interested in the role of the vestibular system in maintaining postural stability and cardiovascular and respiratory homeostasis during postural alterations.  Read more
